Letters in the Woods is a finalist in the Word Awards

Today is an exciting day for Letters in the Woods! The shortlist for the Word Awards was announced and Letters in the Woods, illustrated by Sara Thompson, was chosen as a finalist in the children’s fiction/non-fiction category.

The Word Awards is a national award hosted by The Word Guild to recognize excellence in Christian writing. Winners will be announced Sept. 17th.

The response to this picture book has been overwhelming! If you don’t have your copy yet, let me tell you a little bit about this treasure. Letters in the Woods takes children on a walk through the northern forest to discover the familiar shapes of the alphabet hidden in trees, clouds, water and rocks. Sweet rhymes accompany whimsical watercolour illustrations. Available through Word Alive Press and online, wherever children’s books are sold.

Thank you to the Word Awards for recognizing Letters in the Woods! It’s an amazing honour to be included in the shortlist with so many talented Canadian artists!
