Welcome to our new adventure! Like many folks, we have decided to leave city life and find some land in the hopes of being more self sustainable. We are not off grid; we are not those people! I have a deep admiration for anyone who is attempting to live that way but we know our limitations. However, both my husband and I were raised in the country and definitely feel more at home in a rural setting.

Snow is expected any day now but earlier this fall we enjoyed flyovers from Canada geese getting ready to migrate, the farmers’ fields were full of noisy sandhill cranes and a red fox made a few visits to the property.
Currently, we are occupied with finishing our house but over the winter months we will finalize plans for a garden and greenhouse. We have been incredibly blessed with a wonderful church family and plan to visit our kids and grandkids often!
I am really looking forward to writing in such a peaceful setting (once the construction is done and the big machine goes home!)
Comment below if you have traded in city life for the country. I’d love to hear about your experience!
