A very hard goodbye

My Dad

A life of adventure, love and curiosity has come to an end. Ninety-one years of working hard, traveling, raising a family, and learning. Always learning.

A farm boy, train-hopper, self-taught electrician/carpenter/roofer/engineer and motorcycle rider. A man of faith acquainted with grief as well as joy. He routinely checked on his neighbours, often lending a helping hand, and was always interested in other people’s stories.

Dad has left a legacy of kindness, patience, integrity and love. His was a life well-lived.

  1. Beautifully said sue. What an incredible man whom I wish I could have spent more time with. I could have learned so much from him.
Uncle Tom lives on in all of you. 💕

  2. Well said, Susan. Your dad was from a generation that made huge sacrifices for country and family. We lose so much history when we lose our parents. Luckily he shared his life generously so the flame can keep burning in you. I’m very sorry for your loss but I’m certain he will inspire some great storytelling. Thinking of you.
